The Class of 2005

Cold, Hard Football Facts for Apr 23, 2006

The Class of 2005

As stated in the main story, one season in football does not give us enough evidence to place any of these players into one of our other categories. We have to see at least one more year of performance before gauging the direction of these careers.

But, clearly, the first-round wide receiver Class of 2005 had an unspectacular debut. Cleveland's Braylon Edwards appears to have the best chance of success. He missed six games due to injury, but still put up a group-leading 512 yards receiving, while scoring three touchdowns.

But, after one season, there's no reason to believe the Class of 2005 will be any better than the nine that have come before it.
