NFL 2013: Most 7-Point Games Through Three Weeks in History

Cold, Hard Football Facts for Sep 24, 2013

News from NFL Media services ...

LUCKY SEVENSeven NFL teams – Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Miami, New England, New Orleans and Seattle – are undefeated through Week 3.  Since 1990, 75.4 percent of teams (86 of 114) that started 3-0 made the playoffs.

Four of the seven undefeated teams did not make the playoffs last season. Since the 12-team playoff format was adopted in 1990, at least four clubs made the playoffs that were not in the postseason the previous year.

On Thursday night, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 26-16 to reach 3-0 after finishing the 2012 season 2-14. The Chiefs are the fifth team in NFL history to start a season 3-0 after losing 14 or more games the previous season.
