Americans downed 50 million cases of beer on Super Bowl Sunday

We all know Americans drink boatloads of beer on Super Bowl Sunday. But we never knew how much until the folks from SaveOnBrew.com released this graphic below about American beer consumption on the big day.

Some highlights: Americans drank an estimated 50 million cases of beer on Super bowl Sunday. That's about four beers for every man, woman and child in the country, for those of you keeping score at home. Bud Light is the top-selling beer.

Now you know why Anheuser-Busch dished out $1.2 b-b-b-billion back in 2010 to make Bud Light the offical beer of the NFL. Bud Light also took over an entire hotel in Indianapolis and hosted all kinds of swanky parties there.

Beer is certainly big biz, folks, especially on the biggest sports day in the United States.
