We don't suck ... again
Cold, Hard Football Facts for May 12, 2006

By Cold, Hard Football Facts senior writer John Dudley

The Cold, Hard Football Facts staff popped the tops on an extra six-pack with breakfast this morning, as the site picked up another piece of proverbial hardware to place on our milk-crate mantle.

Boston-area sports fans named Cold, Hard Football Facts.com their favorite sports site for the second year in a row, according to BostonSportsMedia.com. The results were released today.

"It's an entire site devoted to beer, tailgating and cutting-edge gridiron analysis. What's not to love?" said Cold, Hard Football Facts.com publisher and Chief Angry Troll Kerry J. Byrne. "This is another step toward our inevitable domination of Planet Pigskin. It's like we've just captured Kamchatka and now have the entire Eurasian landmass within reach of our plastic Roman numeral armies."

It's the second major online honor for us this spring. In April, Cold, Hard Football Facts.com was named the second most popular independent football site in the nation by readers at FootballOutsiders.com.

BostonSportsMedia.com also named us the top sports site on the web last spring, just six months after our founding in September 2004.

"We have a great staff and an unbeatable concept, and we've made a lot of noise in a scant 20 months of existence," said Byrne. "It's nice to know that we don't suck."

Cold, Hard Football Facts.com has been fortunate to receive a lot of media and fan attention in the Boston area, and that remains our core market. About half of our readers come from New England. But the site continues to garner attention in other parts of the country and in other parts of the world, especially in England.
