Hang with the trolls Sunday
Cold, Hard Football Facts for September 10, 2005

Boston-area friends of the Cold, Hard Football Facts who feel the need to hijack what little dignity they still have can hang with the CHFF crew (at least some of us) Sunday to catch a full slate of NFL action.

Starting about 12:30, we'll be at Frankie's Sports Bar at Jasper White's Summer Shack in Cambridge, Mass. (149 Alewife Brook Parkway) to watch the early games. Jasper White is one of the nation's top chefs and the Summer Shack is his casual seafood spot. Frankie Reardon is one of New England's top bartenders and runs his own sports bar inside the Summer Shack. He's also a hardcore football fan and one of the best tailgaters you've ever met. He tailgates with a collection of Boston's best chefs and it's Frankie's job to do all the cooking on gameday. He must be good.

Summer Shack is right next to Alewife Station on Boston's Red Line, so you don't even have to drive should you choose to have a few extra beertinis. And, hey, why not?

At about 6 p.m., we're heading to 21 Nickels in Watertown, Mass. (21 Nichols St.), where the Chief Angry Troll will discuss beer, tailgating and the week's football action with "The Red Zone" hosts Brian Malone and James Murphy on sports radio 1510 The Zone (1510 AM). "The Red Zone" airs each Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., except when the New England Patriots are playing a 4 p.m. Sunday game.

And don't forget,  the Chief Angry Troll will make his weekly appearance with Karlson & McKenzie on Boston classic rock station WZLX (100.7 FM) to discuss beer, food and Week 2 NFL action next Thursday at 8 a.m.
