Week 1 NFL broadcast maps
Cold, Hard Football Facts for September 13, 2009
Here's our weekly look
at the NFL broadcasting schedule, with maps provided by our pals from
the506.com. Great stuff for us map geeks.
With a week slate of
games for Week 1, the eyeball network's coverage is divvied up along rigid
regional lines – well, unless you live around Bakersfield, which is getting the
Miami-Atlanta game for some reason.
The major-market Jets-Texans game gets the top crew of Nantz-Simms.
Fox early game
Minnesota-Cleveland
seems like a dog on the schedule, but Fox finds Brett Favre a major draw. His
debut with the Vikings will be shown across a good half of the physical expanse
of the country, including almost all of the major Midwest
and West Coast media markets. Dallas usually
gets coverage around most of the nation, but is bumped by the Favrefest in Cleveland. The Cowboys
battle against the Bucs will be shown only in southern and some mid-Atlantic markets.
Fox late game
The Redskins-Giants Glamour
Division battle is the day's big affair, with Fox's top crew of Buck-Aikman and
the greatest broadcast distribution of any Week 1 contest.
