Tedy Bruschi: half man, half centaur
Cold, Hard Football Facts for August 31, 2009

(Click here to relive a riotous account of Tedy Bruschi's greatest game  from Buffalo's WGR 550.)

New England linebacker Tedy Bruschi retired this weekend, in the wake of one of the more interesting careers in recent NFL history.

Bruschi was a cult hero among Patriots fans -- a rep forged partly from his ability in his prime to come up with clutch plays in big games, but also due to the fact that his name is a euphemism for the liquid gold that football fans love so much.

But Bruschi generated a cloying, sickening, Favre-esque love affair in the national media when he returned from a stroke in the middle of the 2005 season. The hype caused Buffalo radio station WGR 550 to create this riotous, laugh-out-loud spoof of Bruschi.

We nearly pissed ourselves when we heard him described as "half man, half centaur."
