CHFF 'blogs' the draft with SI.com
Cold, Hard Football Facts for April 21, 2009

Yes, the Cold, Hard Football Facts have been a little silent in the weeks before the Draft.

We prefer the Bottle, quite frankly. But the NFL doesn't offer a Bottle this time of year. So Draft it is.

Hey, any port in a storm. Hell, any brandy, cognac or grappa in a storm. But we guess we've revealed too much about our own problems by this point.

In any case, for a site that prides shames itself on bombast, belligerence and its lordship over all things pigskin, our silence the past couple weeks has been unusual. But we've been working on some behind-the-scenes business stuff this month that we hope will yield profound enlightenment for you, our beloved loyal Trolls, and for the rest of gridiron kind, in the months and seasons ahead. More on that later.

In the meantime, we'll be "blogging" the draft for the very first time this year, and it will be with our pals from Sports Illustrated.

SI.com will have its writers at various team war rooms around the country on Saturday. Peter King will be with the Chiefs in Kansas City. Don Banks will be with the Lions in Detroit (he pulled the short straw). And our own Potentate of Pigskin Kerry J. Byrne will be with the Patriots in Foxboro. About a dozen others will be contributing, too.

Should be fun and, if all goes well this off-season, it should allow us to continue forward with our inevitable conquest of Planet Pigskin.
