Pre-Combine player rankings
Cold, Hard Football Facts for February 18, 2009

The Cold, Hard Football Facts don't put a lot of stock in the Combine, that annual harvest of NFL talent held in Indianapolis, which kicks off today.

Instead, we put a lot of stock in guys who can actually play football. After all, as we've show in the past, success at the Combine rarely leads to success in the NFL. Success being a good football player, oddly enough, is what often leads to success in the NFL.

Still, timing guys in the shuttle run is what passes for news right now in the NFL.

Plus, our pals at NFLDraftScout.com were kind of enough to send us their list of the top draft prospects, ranked from top to bottom, entering the combine. You can see that list below. For more information about the Combine (and the draft as, you know, the name would indicate), check out NFLDraftScout.com, which lists and ranks more than 12,000 college players eligible for drafts through 2012, including more than 1,200 for the 2009 draft. You can also research all past drafts on NFLDraftScout.com, too.

We don't put a lot of stock in the Combine, that annual harvest of NFL talent, which kicks off today. Instead, we put a lot of stock in guys who can actually play football. Yeah, we know, radical concept. Still our cyber-pals at NFLDraftScout.com sent us their list of pre-Combine player rankings that you might find interesting.
