Vegas thinks you should tell the old lady you're busy on Dec. 21
Cold, Hard Football Facts for November 6, 2008

The folks from BoDogLife.com send us a bunch of their odds from time to time, and they provided these Super Bowl, conference and division champion lines this week.

They're always interesting to look at, not for what they say about Vegas, but for what they say about the mindset of you, the pigskin public. After all, fans speak with their money, and these odds reflect that free speech.

Couple highlights:

Vegas likes the defending champs – the Giants, 9/2 favorites to win the Super Bowl, are rated just a shade ahead of the Titans (5/1) as the team most likely to win it all.

Watch out for the Panthers – Carolina seems to be the big surprise on the list. At 10/1 to win the Super Bowl, the Panthers are rated behind only the Giants among NFC contenders. They're a solid 5/1 to win the NFC title.

It could be Pittsburgh's year, again – No surprise here: The Steelers have the second best record in the AFC (6-2) and the second best odds to win the Super Bowl among AFC teams (9/1). The Steelers and Titans square off on Dec. 21, in what could prove a battle for the AFC's No. 1 seed.

Mark your calendar for Dec. 21! – The Panthers head to the Meadowlands to face the Giants, and the Steelers have the Titans in the Music City, in a pair of holiday-season treats that could determine the tops seeds in both conferences. Tell the old lady today that you already have plans.
