Civil War in Wisconsin! Angry Pack fans shred each other like Polly-O String Cheese
Cold, Hard Football Facts for July 23, 2008
This radio clip from ESPN Milwaukee, featuring Fox News TV host Greta Van Susteren, is a textbook example of the rancor Brett Favre has caused among the Cheeseheads. Susteren, of course, interviewed Favre about his future last week and appeared with Homer True on ESPN Milwaukee, apparently to promote the interview broadcast.
Cheeso-a-Cheeso chaos quickly ensues.
All we can tell from this interview is that Wisconsin, once a bedrock bastion of Middle American aw-shucks neighborliness, has descended into a brother vs. brother street brawl and teeters on the brink of cheddarly Civil War that will tear apart Badger State families as if they were nothing more than Polly-O String Cheese.
ESPN Milwaukee host Homer is in studio. Susteren, thankfully, is on the phone, but even over the telephone lines and radio waves you could freeze your Leinenkugel with her icy chill.
Here's the problem: Susteren’s not just a Fox News gals, she’s a native of Appleton, Wisconsin – a city best known among the CHFF crew as the home of Iwo Jima flag raiser John Bradley and Vietnam War hero/Notre Dame legend/Pittsburgh Steelers great Rocky Bleier. Naturally, she’s a life-long Packers fan.
True, sadly for him, is a friend of the Cold, Hard Football Facts who often invites us on the air. He, too, is a native of Wisconsin and, like Susteren, a life-long Packers fan.
Let's just say the two don't see curd to curd about the Favre issue.
