Awesome conference title game releases (updated with Giants)
Cold, Hard Football Facts for January 20, 2008

Here's a look at the various releases issued by the NFL and the individual championship-game contenders. As we've stated before, teams do a great job with these releases, which are filled with incredible information that journalists plug into their reports and articles. We simply cut out the middlehack.

Some really cool stuff in here, folks. Don't forget to come up for beer.

San Diego's Gates, Rivers listed as doubtful. Giants look to be very close to full strength.

Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Dan Marino are the only passers to toss TDs in more than 10 straight playoff games (Favre, 17; Brady and Marino, 13)

Chargers making their ninth AFL/AFC title game appearance, more than any team but Raiders (14) and Steelers (13).

San Diego's 46 regular-season wins over the past four years trail only New England (52) and Indy (51). (Guide incorrectly reports that the Chargers ended New England's "record 21-game home winning streak" in 2005; the home win streak record of 27 is held by the 1971-74 Dolphins.)

New York's win over the Cowboys last week reminds us of an old Aerosmith album, "Done with Mirrors." The Giants generated 230 yards of offense, second lowest total of the season, and their 23:30 time of possession was the franchise's lowest since December 2001.

Green Bay's 42-20 win over Seattle, after trailing 14-0 in the first quarter, marked the greatest comeback in Packers postseason history.

New England's much-maligned defense surrendered 288.3 YPG this season, fewest by a Patriots defense since 1979, and topped the AFC with 47 sacks.
