Bonzo rapes and pillages the "pundits"
Cold, Hard Football Facts for December 2, 2007

Cold, Hard Football Facts coin flipper to the stars
You might think the laws of random selection would sooner or later catch up with Bonzo the Idiot Monkey, our beloved pigskin prognosticating primate.
You might also think merely by flipping a coin to pick games that Bonzo would have one week somewhere along the way that was below .500.
Finally, you might also think professional homo sapien “pundits” could identify winners against the spread much more readily than a cuddly cebus capucinus whose only care in the world is flinging his feces at us.
You’d be wrong on all three counts.
Somehow, someway, Bonzo has continued his winning streak through Week 12 of the 2007 season, with a 10-6 mark last week picking NFL games against the spread. He’s now 104-70 ATS this season, and is blowing the doors off his competition from CBSSports.com. His record truly defies the laws of random chance. Seriously, how is it possible that he's been .500 or better every week this season?
Here’s how Bonzo stacks up against the CBS staff through Week 12 of 2007. And, just in the interest of full disclosure, we’ve added in our picks this season, though we pick only a six-pack of games each Sunday, along with weekday games (hence, our low number of picks).
- Bonzo – 104-70 (.598)
- Judge – 99-76 (.566)
- Prisco – 97-78 (.554)
- CHFF – 43-39 (.524)
- Spin* – 90-85 (.514)
- Harmon – 89-86 (.509)
- Richard – 85-90 (.486)
- Davis – 84-91 (.480)
(*Spin is CBS's random game-picking system, an idea which they stole from us after being humiliated by Bonzo back in 2005. Interestingly, our imaginary monkey blows the doors off their unimaginative effort to rip us off.)
