A few folks have since sent us the audio file, but being technologically incompetent, we can’t figure out how to upload it into the system. Go figure. But you can see the YouTube clip here. You’ll hear CBS broadcasters Jim Nantz and Phil Simms talking normally above the rabid crowd noise. Then you hear a funny whirring sound in the background, and then when the whirring noise stops (or perhaps is shut off) the crowd noise suddenly drops noticeably
It might just be a glitch from the CBS broadcast. Of course, CBS can probably answer that for us and we'll hunt down answers today. Either it was a broadcast glitch or it was not.
And if not, something sounds fishy, folks. And we can’t wait for the arbiters of gridiron morality, like Gregg Easterbrook, to jump on the story. At least in this instance he has some tangible evidence to support his arguments.
For us?
Who gives a shit? We not going to crucify a team for trying to gain an unfair competitive advantage in the uber-pressure-packed NFL.
And we're also not going to act like the duplicitious media pond scum (Hello, Easterbrook!), either, who pillory one team but not the other.
But we would like to see if Bill Belichick and St. Anthony get the same kind of treatment from the factless "pundits."
